Congratulations to the Aggie Autonomous Auto (A3) team from North Carolina A&T State University for their outstanding performance at the SAE AutoDrive Year 3 competition, held in Ann Arbor, MI, from June 2 to June 8. The team earned remarkable awards, securing 2nd place in Project Leadership and 3rd place in System Safety and Technical Report.

The competition featured ten prestigious universities from the U.S. and Canada, including Virginia Tech, University of Wisconsin, University of Toronto, The Ohio State University, Texas A&M University, Penn State University, Kettering University, Queen's University, Michigan Tech, and NC A&T. This 4-year competition challenges students to design and implement cutting-edge ideas for autonomous driving.

This year, approximately 35 BS, MS, and PhD students from various departments—Computer Science (CS), Computational Data Science and Engineering (CDSE), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISEN), and Mechanical Engineering (ME)—worked collaboratively to advance their autonomous vehicle.
