WE ARE

Region 4 University Transportation Center (UTC) serves as a research and education focal point to advance southeast transportation research, education, and leadership efforts with an emphasis on enhancing rural transportation. This will be achieved by involving other Region 4 UTCs in research; providing a platform for regional training, education, and workforce development activities; engaging regional stakeholders; and creating a regional and national forum for mobility innovations for rural and underserved communities.

CR2C2 Team consists of  a strong, diverse team with complementary capabilities from NCAT, Clemson University, Florida Atlantic University, University of Alabama, University of Georgia, University of Kentucky, and University of Tennessee-Knoxville. The team brings a wealth of resources, a past track record of research, and demonstrated leadership in transportation to foster breakthrough ideas, innovations, and transformative research solutions for regional transportation problems

CR2C2's Goal is to plan, implement, and evaluate an integrated research, education, workforce development, and technology transfer approach for providing innovative connected, and coordinated multimodal technological solutions to enable and improve equitable, efficient, and effective mobility services for the movement of people and goods primarily, but not exclusively, in rural and underserved communities.

CR2C2 Transformational Impacts will be developing innovative analytical and technological solutions, particularly in rural and underserved areas, to expand the functional integration of these communities with the national economy. Through purpose-driven research, education, and outreach activities, CR2C2 will lay the foundation for residents of rural and underserved communities to access socioeconomic opportunities that are too often reserved for people who live in urban areas.

CR2C2 Solutions will unlock the untapped potential of communities that have frequently been an afterthought in transportation policy and planning to ensure they share equitably in the prosperity and wealth they play a central role in creating.
