This testbed of Connected Autonomous Vehicles in the form of Low Speed Shared Automated Shuttles includes three Gem E6 Polaris electric vehicles serves as a platform for testing and evaluating connectivity and automated driving systems. These vehicles are equipped with different sensors to precisely perceive the surrounding environment to enable autonomous driving. A 5G cellular modem is used as a medium to enable real-time communication for Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-To-Cloud (V2C) communication. The software and hardware architectures, as well as the connectivity backbone, are established to support this CAV testbed.
