CR2C2–ITE Joint Seminar with NCSITE President Mike Reese
The CR2C2 Student Leadership Council collaborated with the ITE Student Chapter at NC A&T to organize an engaging and informative seminar on October 7, 2025, featuring Mike Reese, P.E., C.P.M., President of the North Carolina Section of ITE (NCSITE) and Western Regional Engineer at NCDOT's Traffic Management Unit. The event drew strong attendance from students, faculty, and staff, with students primarily from the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering, all eager to learn about the practical applications of Synchro and related software tools in highway access and planning analysis.
Mike's presentation provided valuable real-world insights from NCDOT projects, demonstrating how traffic analysis tools are applied in actual planning and project evaluations. The session was particularly beneficial for students who work with transportation modeling and analysis, as it bridged the gap between academic learning and professional practice. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about instructional resources available for mastering these industry-standard tools.
The combination of technical content and professional networking created an excellent learning environment, and the event successfully achieved its goal of connecting students with practicing professionals in the transportation engineering field. We extend our gratitude to Assistant Professor Venktesh Pandey, faculty advisor and lead of the ITE Student Chapter, for his instrumental role in coordinating this successful collaboration, and to the ITE student members for their enthusiasm and participation.
