CR2C2 Showcases Autonomous Car Technology at Piedmont STEM Festival

On April 20, 2024, the NC Piedmont Triad K-12 STEM Student Enrichment Ecosystem event was held at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro as part of NC SciFest 2024. The event brought together local, regional, and state STEM Learning Ecosystems, including schools, community organizations, higher education institutions, STEM professionals, and businesses, to enrich K-12 STEM education.

CR2C2 participated by showcasing autonomous car technology to K-12 students. PhD student Tienake Phuapaiboon explained the workings of these advanced vehicles to young learners, emphasizing the importance of early STEM engagement. This hands-on demonstration highlighted how investing in STEM education is critical to developing the future workforce and addressing complex challenges like modernizing transportation systems.

The event helped lay the foundation for inspiring the next generation of innovators, fostering interest and skills that will shape the future of technology and transportation.
