CR2C2 research was featured at the IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC) 2025 Workshop, held November 18 at The Star Grand in Gold Coast, Australia. The half-day workshop, Advanced Transportation Technologies for Urban & Rural Areas, brought together researchers and industry leaders to examine emerging technologies shaping mobility, infrastructure, and logistics systems.
Center Director Dr. Ali Karimoddini presented CR2C2 research during Session 2 with a talk titled “Bringing Autonomy to Rural Areas: Challenges in Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Deployment.” His presentation highlighted current research and practical considerations related to deploying connected and autonomous vehicle technologies in rural environments, with a focus on system readiness, infrastructure integration, and deployment challenges.
In addition to presenting, Dr. Karimoddini served as a workshop moderator and led the panel discussion and closing remarks, helping guide technical dialogue with researchers and practitioners from universities, research institutes, and industry organizations worldwide.
