CR2C2 is proud to recognize Komal Gulati, a PhD student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Graduate Research Assistant at CR2C2, for earning two prestigious scholarships in the field of transportation.
On November 20, 2025, Komal was awarded the Emily Blount Honorary Scholarship by the North Carolina Society of Transportation and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (NCSITE) at their Annual Meeting in Chapel Hill. As part of this recognition, she delivered a podium presentation titled “Truck Parking Solutions using Reservation and Facility Location: A North Carolina Case Study.” Her work reflects CR2C2’s commitment to advancing innovative solutions for rural and regional transportation challenges.
In addition, Komal was selected by the WTS NC Triangle Chapter as a recipient of the Bridgette Beato Leadership Legacy Scholarship. This award highlights her academic excellence, leadership potential, and dedication to the transportation field.
Komal’s contributions to CR2C2 extend well beyond her research. She has served as Chair and Co-Chair of the CR2C2 Student Leadership Council (SLC) for two consecutive years, where she has played a key role in fostering a collaborative, supportive, and engaging research environment within the center.
She was honored at the 2026 WTS Scholarship and Networking Luncheon, held on February 25, 2026, at the NC State University Club in Raleigh.
CR2C2 congratulates Komal on these well-deserved honors and is proud to have her as part of our community.
